A newborn, yes. Most hospital make people wash their hands and put on a gown before holding the baby. But my 4 month old, no, unless I've been doing something that I should wash my hands after.

I wash my hands or use hand sanitizer throughout the day. I am a germaphobe. I would and have washed my hands before picking up someones baby, because they're so susceptible to diseases.

I'm hardly ever around babies anyway but if I'm picking them up I dont wash my hands-they're usually pretty clean-anyway germs build up a baby's immune system
