Can I transfer an expired indiana (reciprocity) license to texas if i have a copy of my expired license and a transcript of my hours, or do i need to go back to indiana and make the license current again before applying for texas reciprocity?

You can do it, BUT you will pay a penalty for not having a current license. ALSO, you will have to take your board exams again, regardless of whether your license is current or not. I suggest renewing the license in Indiana before going to TX.

you can transfer your license; you dont need to go back to indiana and make the license current. i am not sure of the prosess you will need to go throught to get your license here in texas. when i transferd mine it was from kansas to texas and it was current. you will prob just need to take a test, but just go to the texas cosmetology commision web site and you will find all you need to know.
