no i'm not into s&m (s&m is sexual i think?)......i believe the man is the head of the household, and by submitting to his authority it is within his right to discipline me if he thinks it necessary.......and i'm just wondering what the men here would use.
of course......after the discipline.....well.....then the real fun usually starts.....

Assuming they're both hetero, I think it's almost impossible for a guy to spank a girl without any sexual element being involved - and your PS ("that's when the fun starts") rather confirms it.
That said, I always prefer to start off with a good long otk (over the knee) hand-spanking by way of warm-up. Apart from anything else, it sets her up to take a much longer, harder spanking. But once her bottom's well warmed up, I often go on to a paddle, tawse or hairbrush. And to get the message across without any ambiguity, a long-handled wooden bath-brush *really* gets her attention - especially on a wet bottom....

So this is a for real practice? I never even spanked my kids with anything other than my hand the few times in their lives that they ever got a pop on the butt. The final detail you added, does make it sound like a sexual thing. Apparently more wide spread than I thought.

I'm currently in a domestic discipline relationship with my roommate. While I normally start a disciplinary or punishment spanking with my hand, I usually switch to a wooden hairbrush that she responds well to. It chastens her fully and she is quite contrite afterwards when I snuggle her and explain why she was disciplined and what she did wrong. She is also scolded/lectured before, as well, but it's reiterated afterwards to drive the message home.
