I am tired of this story and there are far more important news... They shot some mexican for fun so they should do the time! Its not like they care about the integrity of our border or anything... Can we get over it?

What a totally disengenuous remark. You should be ashamed of yourself.
They shot some Mexican outlaw who was in the process of smuggling 750 pounds of marijuana across the border, after he brandished what they thought was a weapon, so an overzealous Federal Prosecutor looking to make a name for himself persecutes these two guys.
The drug smuggler gets amnesty from the drug charges in return for his testimony, then gets caught again, DOING THE EXACT SAME THING and gets amnesty A SECOND TIME.
The good guys go to jail and the buttplug smuggler is suing for damages.
What could be more important than this miscarraige of justice?

Your question shows your ignorance. The border is a mini-battlefield and our Border Agents have their hands tied. They did not "kill Mexicans for fun." Get real. This guy was a drug runner who was firing at the agents and running back into Mexico. He got shot in the butt. He'll survive. Meanwhile our agents are in jail. This is not a job most people would do. It sucks. You can't win!

They were railroaded by the US attorney.
Their attorney was unable to bring out the fact that the smuggler was arrest after the incident for more drug trafficking at the request of the prosecutor.
There is some thing fishy about why this case was prosecuted at all.

Because they are getting screwed over by our government. It is alleged that they shot a scumbag drug smuggler..and the US attorney took the scumbag's word over the officers.
If you're tired of a fight against injustice, then there is something wrong with you.
