I shut down Kobe all the time online. Run a 2-3 Defense, set all positions to tight D, and use the PF or C and follow Kobe around behind your player guarding him. Then, when he tries to shoot a 3, you send it to the third row. If he tries to drive on you, call for a double team and try to draw the charge by pressing B or circle.
Hint: Use Dallas and follow with Diop and his 96 Block rating.

They key to guard superstar players like that on 2k7 are too put the guarding on tight, and set when you want to double team him. (Ex. in the key, or outside) Also, once in a while it works if you are not the player guarding him. Let the computer do some of the guarding for you.
