You can go with a god old fashion classic outfit made out of a sheet wrapped around yourself and say you`re Aphrodite, Athena or any other greek or roman goddess... Sheets are easy to come by, and a few props can be added.
To start out with this costume you will at least need one white sheet. Then cut a hole in the top. Cut or hem the bottom of it until it fits you.
Then if you are a God then you would take one side of it and take it over in shoulder. Get gold ribbon to tie around the shoulder strap and use it for a belt.

Then for Goddess' you would do pretty much the same only cutting two straps covering both shoulders. Then take gold ribbon and tie around both straps.

Then you will need olive wreaths to go over your head.
This costume also looks good with gold or black sandals. And for make up you may want to wear glitter. This also looks well with gold or leather straps wrapping around your knee!

Silk flowers can be curled around the ear, tucked in folds, wound around arms for romantic Aphrodite (Venus) or if you can get a little brother or cousin to spare a bow and arrow, you're ready to go as the huntress goddess Artemis or Athena..

how about a greecian goddess? just need a white piece of material and something to sew with. Okay get a rectangular piece of white material, fold it in half, put the middle of the fabric under one arm, and then pin it up on the top of the other shoulder. sew it to secure it. then get a sash or something and tie at the waist. There... instant greek goddess :D have fun.

PS its also good to search "greek goddess costume pictures"... to get some ideas of what it should look like.

NO! Don't wear a toga!

1) Togas weren't Greek.
2) The only Roman women who wore togas were prostitutes. (Which might be okay if you wanted to dress up as Venus...)

Get a long sleeved plain color shirt and a white sleeveless dress *with straps.* Put on the shirt, then the dress, and then belt up the dress with a piece of cord just above your belly button, and pull it out so it's blousy (read: makes you look fat.) And ecce (look), extra points for historical accuracy! Bedsheet-sized ugly shawl optional.
