I am sure that by that time, you will be over your cold and doing just fine, drink lots of fluid, and get all the rest you can. And, if I may say, you dont have anything to prove to your friends, if you can sing and you believe you can sing, who gives a damn what they think, and as your frinds they should be supportive, but honest. Hope this helps, Good Luck, you go out there at that singing competition and show everyone the voice you have.

WOW! Well....you could pray that this cold goes away and that you will be able to sing. But, if it doesn't you shouldn't let your freinds define you and pressure like that. YOU know you can sing and that should be the only thing that matters. And if your friends can't except that you are telling the truth then your friendship with them is not a good one. Your friends are supposed to trust you and believe you no matter what it is. Either way if you can sing that day or if you can't, you need to examine your friendship with these people! Good Luck and I hope this helps!

Try lots of rest and drinking fluids, like juice and water, but watch out because certain juices, like orange, can have a lot of acid. Don't use your voice too much either, or you might just end up making it worse. If you can't sing at the talent show, get all of your friends to come over when you're better and do some karaeoke to prove them wrong!

You still have 13 days to shake the cold. So take extra vitamin c, drink hot liquids (lemon and honey is great for colds), and rest. If you feel up to it, eat spicy food: There is something about hot spices that cold germs don't like.

Good luck!

Definitely rest your voice (straining your voice will only harm your vocal chords). If you're coughing make sure you have a lot of cough drops handy. If your throat hurts you could gargle with warm salt water.

As for other medical advice, I would consult your physician.
