Does the ring rub against the teeth or gums? I want the little hoop that goes in the center of the bottom lip. Opinions?

You should not get a lip peircing, you'll regret it later.

i got my lip pierced a year ago..if its pierced correctly (only get it pierced by a licensed professional) and taken care of correctly then there should be no side effects. its will be swollen for up to 6 weeks, remember that if you planning to look cool somewhere. and when you get it pierced they put in a bar bell until it heals. the hoop will have to come 2 months or more later. you can chip a tooth should you get hit in the face or fall on your face, but other than that nothing. get ready to make adjustments when you eat and drink however. you have to learn to negotiate the piercing. follow the instructions your piercist gives like a bible verse. infected piercing are nasty and you could loose your lip and even die if the infection goes to you bloodstream. above all if you want it to remain permanant then keep it in, with the exception of changing it, for a good year. mine still tries to heal.
ps..it only hurt the second the needle popped my skin. after that your adrenaline pretty much makes you feel great for the rest of the day.

ha dont listen to the assholes that have prolly never had any thing on there body pierced... listen to me i have the monroe and i love it and it was painless so dont be scared bout pain side effects none really if you listen to the instruction they give you which are dont take it out dont eat spicey foods no strong makin out or oral sex for two weeks and dont change the jewlery right away wait 3 or 4 months to even take it out... the mouth is the fastest healing place on you body to get a piercing so you should be healed rather fast but it might puss for a little while after you get it dont play with it and DONT!!! use peroxide, and keep a clean mouth umm and use alcohol free mouth wash also and if you listen to those tips you should be fine oo go to you tube .com and type in lip piercing and watch some videos on getting your lip pierced... thats how i worked up courage and now ha i have no idea what i was scarred of good luck!

my sister got her lip pierced. It looked really good. The only prblem was it can irritate your gums a little because its always pushing and rubbing against the. Sometimes you can also get infections because that area usually very germy.
All is avoidable though. Keep the area clean and don't overdo the size of the ring.

This area of the body is prone to infections because that is where you eat so lots of food and stuff can get stuck around the pirecing.
A friend of mine had her lip pierced and had a stud in her bottom lip. Since she had it done it chipped two of her teeth and when I kissed her you could hear it knocking against my teeth which was really not sexy.
I wouldn't advise you to get your tongue pierced either because then when someone kisses you it's like kissing a ball bearing and that is not sexy either.

i wouldnt do it cuz first of all talk about PAINN and second wen u eat it can get stuck to ur gums or food and teeth and yeah thts like OUCH! soo it will just look weird anyway i know it miight be ur style like punky gothish but dont due it it can harm ur mouth and lips and --( someday ur husband and other boys are gonna think its gross ugly and a kind of girl tht has it is not beautiful no affence but ) just dont take the shot because u never no wht can happen!

You will get painful swelling around the piercing site and also your lip is very nerve prone so it'll hurt ALOT!

I've seen people that have had it done,and it seemed Wow!,they get a big gold slobber ring put there.They must like it through,because I always see them smile.

you will look really weird and you will have to have that for the rest of your life, think when your an old lady like in your 50's walking around with a thing hanging from her lip. It may look good now (even though I don't like when people do that they look strange) but once you get older it will look freaky.
