What is Wii like?

Is it worth arguing with my parents? What should
I do? What's it really like?

It's a great system when you play with friends. Lots of fun when you get to complete with your friends.

But for single player, the PS3 and 360 are much better.

Yeah, it's worth arguing with your parents especially if you want one. It's only 250 bucks, which is a lot cheaper than the PS3 and 360. Get your parents involved. Tell them that it's fun to play together and get them to play with you.

The Wii really can't be described. It's just an amazing gaming experience. As much as I respect Superdork, I'll have to disagree, the Wii has excellent single-player. Zelda, Red Steel, Trauma Center, not to mention all the VC games. :P But he is right, the Wii really shines in multiplayer mode. If you can get a few friends over to play Warioware you're gonna be doubling over in laughter. I would never recommend flat-out arguing with your parents. All that will accomplish is getting both of you pissed off. :( I suggest politely asking if you can get one and if they refuse, insist (politely) that you really do want one, give your reasons, and offer to do extra chores and such in return.
Now for all the other answers who keep telling you to buy a (insert competitor's product here) just ignore them. They are what the world calls "Fanboys." Idiots who rant about how (console/handheld name here) is soooooooooo much better than (opposing console/handheld here) with no reasoning other than their own opinions stated as facts. Buy what appeals to you and you alone. Don't let fanboys sway you into buying something you don't want. I hope you get your Wii, or whatever else you want.

ITS THE BEST!!!!! GET IT. GET IT. Kill someone if that's what it takes. It's the ONLY system with motion sensor controllers and it's the best system out there right now. Plus, it's only $250! The X box 360 is $400 and the PS3 is $600. Wii sports is the best. Yeah the graphics suck and are really cartoony, but it's SO much fun. Do what you need to in order to get it. I've have never had so much fun/exercise playing a video game in my life.

I only have Wii Sports, the game that comes with the console. It is a blast. We REALLY enjoy playing it a lot, all the time. I'm so glad I got a Wii instead of an Xbox or PS3.

i have a wii. and it got boring. Its a great system, but if you want games that are more realistic and hardcore, get a 360. the wii are more for party like people.

ps: u probly dont wont ur mom r dad to get used to the wii, that means less time for u to play

Its not fun at all. Its like you have to stand there with a remote and "play" like you're in the game. Sometimes you dont know where to hold the remote so that it shows up right on the screen and...its just not fun and DEFINITELY not worth all that money. If anything argue about the Playstation 3! Now thats worth it!!

it is a overly sensitive remote control gaming console. In my opinion it is over priced because it doesn't even play cd's or dvd's it is not very good.

If you need to argue get the playstation 3 (way better)
