It sounds like a goofy question but I'm serious. I work in the front office of a small business and I'm often the only one available to answer phones and greet people. Sometimes I can snag someone from the back to watch the phones and door, but it's not always possible. How can I hold it until a convenient time?

well I would try to make arrangements for someone to come and relieve you on a regular basis. Talk to your boss to ask if this is possible. Or just leave for a quick min and let the phones go. They'll call back. Talk to your boss about this as an option too. Just tell your boss your dilemma and ask what he prefers you do.
But I would drink very little before and during work so I wouldn't have to go Then drink more when I got home. Also, stay away from coffee and tea as they will dehydrate your and make you go more often.

Are you in a position where you can cross your legs? That might help.
Just keep that 'area' tight. What's the word? Urm, not tight... just keep your legs together! XD

Squeeze your muscles??

Everything comes out goofy!!

Could you go toilet before you start your shift? It might not be good to hold it in all the time.

try not to drink too much before work, and if you are really desperate, get a tube and a milk jug. And hope that the place is private.

You shouldn't have to hold it.....it is not good for you to do that
you will end up with bladder infections !
Talk to your supervisor and explain this so that someone can relieve you when you need to go !

You can only hold it for so long and then you have to go. Maybe you have a smaller bladder, which is not that uncommon. More uncommon would be a fallen bladder, which would require major surgery to correct.

A funnel and an empty milk jug just might be your biggest friends at work.
