i understand certain games are better on certain systems. I play football games and baseball games more than any other games. But i am also up for trying some new games. So based on sports games what system is better??? AND WHY?

your best off going with the 360 probably. Xbox caters to a primarily US market while PS focuses on Japan (if you need proof look where each sends their systems first and in what quantity). You sound like an All-American gamer who likes the big american sports. Both systems will have the basic games in each, but if either one is going to expand deeper into mainstream sports games it will be Xbox. Also, the xbox is coming out with a lot of generally quality games, plenty of which should turn into stars. Ps3 is too, but their big games are often RPG types with crazy shemale charecters with huge curved blue hair and swinging a hammer the size of an adolecent bear. For you my friend, i'd stick with that good old US of A power in the 360. Happy hunting and you'll get good games either way

Don't waste your money on the PS3 at this moment, if you are thinking about waiting till the price drop it won't be for at least a year. I own a 360, and I have a friend who owns a PS3 - Get the 360. There are a bunch of games that are out for both system (all the sports games that you need - NBA 2k7, Madden 07, MLB).

There are also many games out for the 360 that the PS3 have that are Game Of The Year worthy. Now I know a lot of PS3 heads would say "There are a lot of games for the PS3 that the Xbox 360 doesn't have!" - Yes but have a PS3 owner, play a 360 with the right games and they would switch except for the fact they don't want to think of their PS3 as wasted money.

This is without mentioning the greatness that is XBOX Live. No other system has the online powers like the Xbox has. The 360 comes with a headset and Three 1-Month XBOX Live Gold subscriptions.

Xbox 360 for $400 (or even cheaper, just look for deals) with three games will equal around $600.00 (considering if you bought 3 new games at new price. Whichever you do, good luck and have fun gaming - because bottom line each system is going to be a good time.

I personaly think the Xbox 360 is better for sports games. If you haven't seen the football and baseball for the 360 check it out on ign.com. The graphics seem better on the 360 too. I also play football and baseball along with some basketball. I have a 360 and I think the best sports game is MLB 2K7. If you see the reviews, you'll see what im talking about. I can tell you games are much better on the 360.

I like the Xbox 360 better. You can play your sports games, but there are a million other things that you can do that are equally as entertaining. Besides, usually the sports games that are worth buying are released on multiple consoles.
I can download movie rentals on my 360, and buy episodes of South Park and any other TV show they have available. There are also nice little arcade games that I can play when I don't have more than 15 minutes to kill (Galaga, Dig Dug, Pac Man, Small Arms, Geometry Wars, Uno, Texas Hold'em).
It's also easier to chat with friends when playing a game. You can chat privately or chat with others in the game.
The controller also fits better in my hand than a PS3 controller.

ok i bout a ps3 some time ago along with it i bought fight night round three i had previously played this very same game for the x-box 360 some time ago and i noticed that the ps3 version had a better feel to it the controll responded much better than with the x-box controller and the graphics had a more realistic feel to them so i would say that the ps3 does a better job with its sports games now i played madden 07 for ps3 but not for 360 so im not gonna compare that game but from what ive been seeing so far the ps3 delivers a more in game and graphically intense gameplay that i feel will keep getting better and better as the years go by

there's very little difference between the 2 it depends on what you want to play other than sports games, due to the 360 using standard dvds the games are pretty short, but so are most current ps3 games. ps3 has a bluray player. the price really isn't that big of a difference when you take in that you'll eventually have to buy the hd dvd add on for the 360. oh yeah and ps3 has metal gear
