Allright, i know Rutherford won the Nobel prize in 1908 for chemistry because of his research on radioactivity.......but can somebody give me more details like:

What was the exact subject area? and what are the discoveries specific contributions?

Please give me detailed answers.
By the way I've been to the Nobel prize website, the details are more like a biography and are not exactly focused on the prize and the details of the prize.
