Your period can be a bit late or irregular if you are sick but if this continues then see the doctor.

I think it depends on the person. I know that I have sometimes been late or missed if I had a sinus infection and was taking lots of antihistimines, antibiotics, and decongestants. Medications and stress can cause all sorts of changes in a person's body. I've missed periods because of changes in my lifestyle, like when I went off to college and was living away from home for the first time. If you think you might be pregnant, do a home pregnancy test. They are very accurate. At least, that's what my doctor and my friends in the medical profession have told me.

Stress can cause your period to skip or be late. Take a preg test just to be sure. And yes, it can be normal.

Many things can affect your cycle. Stress, illness, and other factors can prevent your period. Consult your OB/GYN.

I've heard illness or stress can make you miss a period, that may be what it is.
