Did you ever wonder why lions and a pet cat look very similar to each other? Or why the Dodo bird was flightless, seemingly just waiting for man to come to their island and hunt them to extinction?
It is ignorance to accept that these things were just put there.
Evolution is the only theory which explains the differences and similarities between all species of life on Earth. It is one of the most robust, yet elegant, theories to be put forward.
It is supported by many branches of science, in fact, I cannot think of a branch of science which can be used to reject it. The main objections to it are faith based and are not scientific. People seem to be insulted that they can be related to other forms of life. Why? Because then it would challenge their beliefs that they were created in God's image, rather than having an ape-like ancestor as a template for humankind. It is this arrogance which keeps some people from accepting evidence.
Science may not be able to explain every step of every stage of every animal, and this is seen by creationists as proof that evolution is incorrect. Darwin never claimed to have all the answers, neither do scientists today make that claim, but the theory of evolution is too compelling and logical to be simply dismissed just because it carries the tag of "Theory". There are many current examples of the theory at work, including bacterial resistance to medication, locust resistance to pesticides etc.

Well you should not think like that. The people who don't beleive in evolution say that we have never been organic soup just to confuse our minds.
We evolved a lot in the last 400 years we evolved even further if you see the way we dress the music we listen to and even the religion has divided in to many parts. Evolution is adaptation. We did not like some issues in a religion we change it and make a new denomination. Right? I would call that evolution.
If you see the grand canyon would you say that it was created 5000 years back? No it took millions of years to become that way. It will keep doing its work even after we are long extinct.
If you feel that our ansistors who never used car or modern equipments are a embrasement then you are right you will have a hard time. But if you are proud of them who helped invent the newer stuffs then you are on track. We need to appriciate what our species as gone through and where we are now.
My point of view is God started the evolution process. If you don't beleive or embrassed by it then we need to go back and live in caves like how we lived 10000 years back. Would we? No we won't because we evolved from that right?
Infact when we are being conceived in our mothers body you nee to know we are just an oragnic soup slowly and steadly building up.
I hope I helped you understand the facts
Good luck my friend.
Be proud:)

I think evolution is as proven a scientific fact as the proof that the earth is more round than flat. You werent a puddle of organic soup, a bunch of molecules were. Over an unthinkable amount of time they organized into you and me.

that's ok ...i have a hard time imagining a C- student becoming President . Subtle huh ?
Please understand that nature's processes take millions and millions of years. these timelines are almost impossible to REALLY wrap you mind around.
our point of view is Human - avg, lifespan = 65 to 80 years. we as hominids have only been around for 3.5 million years....less than a drop in the bucket.and for all our pomp , we're not even close to being the most successful of species....Dino's have that locked by about 2 or 300 million years.
'course i could be really snippy and say 'just cause you don't see the process , don't mean it ain't there '
,,,but i won't. humans are pattern - seekers , and things like mega-time and space are outside our regular experience ,and as so , hard to wrap the brain around.
here's an exercise to help see the interaction of the very small in the very large ( and vica-versa )...
load a fractile generator that let's you zoom in & out
infinitely....zoom in until it won't let you go any farther.
call it point zero. let's say it's the very first organic molecule...now it's gonna interact with something else and experience a very slight change...zoom out 1 step...picture has changed only slightly...now zoom out 50 steps....get the picture ?
....if we were Glaciers , i'm sure we would have a very different perspective.
none of this helps...does it ....!?#&$*

Go to the library, look through the back issues of National Geographic, about a year ago they did a very good report on evolution, all the new findings, lots of pictures. It was the best summary of what we know scientifically so far about evolution. It adressed all the common misconceptions as well.

Dear " puddle ". Go here and address your ignorance.
http://www.talkorigins.org
It does not matter what I, you, or anyone else thinks. As the evidence for evolution is overwhelming. For your information, " puddle ", populations evolve, not individuals, so your puddle analogy is wrong.

What do you think you used to be? I think sperm and an ovum are literally a puddle of organic soup.

ahve you never ate soup peoppele look at you when you eat and later they are bored and remember your face and a bowl of soup at the same time,
which tells me that soup you ate wasnt really someones own idea,
well why would someone make soup and not make it for free,
welll that is called evoloution
its like a map that every follows because the bump around in a place
with their fellows
how does it feel to ask something, you dont seem to look like you care if you get a correct answer,
well that is yuor interpretation of evolution,
i want this,
instead of being told why i want a nything,
so there didnt mean to give you a scare

I think evolution is a good reason why we are here.
People have a hard time believing it cause people have always believed in god/s for so long.
Just think about our early beginnings of life and how our fetuses resemble those of our ancestors.
I think its amazing how humans have advanced to the point as we are now.
Makes you wonder, are there aliens out there?

So you have an easier time believing a "being" created us in his own image? And then punished us for re-creating and thus enabling the survival of our species (made in his image)?
And of course the whole immaculate conception thing right?
Yeah, what was I thinking, proven historical facts vs a supreme being and sex being "bad".
