That would depend on the act and how unethical on a scale or 1-10 it was. You work for your boss. Your boss pays you to do things the way he or she wants them done, not to do them the way YOU think they should be done. If you feel your boss in unethical, it might be best to find a new job...especially if you work for a smaller business. If I slightly disagreed with a boss, I'd probably go along. If the boss were to ask me to kill someone, I'd have to decline.

Tell him/her that because of your personal code of ethics, you can not commit such an act. Don't aplogize for being who & what you are & believe in. Next, you report his request to HIS boss. Tell someone else what your boss has asked you to do, so you have someone to coroborate your situation.

Refuse! Been there, done that, and got the t-shirt, several t-shirts in fact. Living without principles is less than a half life.
Cannot be much future prospects in that job, for by simply agreeing to do his dirty work, you have become the fall guy so when it hits the fan, it's you, not him, that gets the Axe.
Find another job.

You do not want to do anything that is going to make you compromise your principles. It is not worth it. It is not a question of how bad a thing it is, if it goes agains your ethics you are the one who has to sleep with it tonight.
Could he be trying to test you? It's a thought.

It depends. If it out and out breaks the law, I would flat out refuse and state my reasons why. If it's something that would just make me feel crappy for a while, I would do anything I could to pass it off onto someone else.
And if I got fired, I'd RUN to the ACLU.

I would politely tell them that I can't do it and why. If they have a hissy, it's their issue, not yours, and if they fire you, you have grounds for a lawsuit!
