Cevix dilated 1 cm and baby dropped?

Question

I am in my 36th week , baby is in head down position for last three
weeks. Yesteday my midwife told me that i am 1.5 cms dilated and babt head can be felt bi fingering in.
So what is this stage. can i expect delivery anytime.

Baby dropping doesn't mean that you are gonna give birth soon... if anything was to happen anytime soon, your midwife would have already said something. Either way, no one can really predict that. The only sign that you are actually gonna deliver or have to deliver soon is when your water breaks completely. People can tell you all sorts of things but it's not predictable. They could just give you false hope. The one thing that is for sure is that you'll deliver in at most 6 weeks. Good luck...

I was 3 Cm. dilated for two weeks before delivery before any active labor began! It really varies. The fact that baby's head has dropped is usually a good sign that the baby is getting ready! You may still have another week or so. Delivering at 36 weeks and after is safe. Good luck to you!

Every mom and baby are different.. When I had my first child I was dilated a 3 for almost 3 months. You could go in 2 hrs or 2 weeks it just depends on when the baby is ready

you can stay at this dilation from any where from 1 week to 4 weeks it just depends,but you are well on your way to bringing the baby into the world.If you want to help it out just start walking everyday,cleaning up the house more,but drink plenty of water so you dont dehydrate.this would be the first stages sweetie take care and good luck

you could stay like that 4 another month. your in the earliest stages of pre labor you have a while rest now while you can

You're well on your way. To get it moving along, have sex and do lots of walking. Once your water has broken though, no more sex and go to the hospital..good luck mommy!
