At 17+ weeks, non-maternity pants are a fond memory.

I'm hoping the maternity pants will get less annoying as time goes on -- true? -- right now, even though they look like they fit, I'm pulling the fool things up every few minutes.

$#&@!!!

Is there a particular 'belly' style that's best? Should I be buying a smaller size? (I am harbouring some suspicions that despite "buy your pre-pregnancy size," a maternity 6 is larger in other ways than a regular 6. One theory: I am often a 'petite.' No such thing as 'petite' in maternity. Petite sizes are sometimes smaller overall, not just shorter. But even that wouldn't account for this much frustration...)

I'd wear nothing but skirts and dresses, but maternity tights turn out to be dreadful, and going bare-legged is some months away here in Canada.

H e l p !

I've never tried them, so I can't attest to their functionality. But maternity belly bands are supposed to be great and alleviate the problem you're describing. Here's a link to one: http://www.babybeminematernity.com/ and you can also search the web for "maternity belly bands" or "pregnancy belly bands"

I have a pair of "over the belly" maternity jeans from Old Navy that I'm constantly pulling up (and I swear that maternity sizes do run large!) Try gettnig some under the belly pants with elastic - I seem to have the best luck with those not falling down. Good luck!

I live in Vancouver BC and the weather is far too touch and go for bare legs, I understand. If I were you, I'd just buy a larger size, non maternity pant. If you were a size 6, go with a size 8-10. Try those stretchy flare pants... they are very comftorable. With my son, I didn't wear maternity clothes, I just made do with regular clothes in slightly larger sizes. Good Luck, this won't last forever.

I had the exact same problem. First of all, none of the maternity pants fit me....not a single size. I'd always be pulling them up!!! I hated it. So what I did is wore my old pants, didn't button them and wore a tube top on the lower half of my belly so it covered up the buttoning and zipping of my pants. That way nobody had to know that I didn't button them! What I do with some of my pants too....I'll zip them to wear I can, and then put a belt over the rest....it's been working since 12 weeks, and I'm 33+ weeks. You might have to find maternity pants that have belt buckles so you can wear a belt with them. Old Navy had a few pairs that had belt buckles. Good luck and congrats!

Just stick with a larger - regular - size clothing, not maternity, in a stretch material. Works great.
