Judging from the Yankees' record 3-0, the top current team in the AL, and the Red Sox' record 0-3, I am a big believer of first impressions even though this is only Spring Training, so I say the Yankees will do awesome this year and the Red Sox will suck. Who cares if they have Dice-K? They cannot win every single day with him, he'll be tired. So, I think that the Yankees will in fact go to the World Series AL side this year. 27 in '07, You gotta believe. ;-)

I'm a huge yankee fan but i don't put any stock into anything that happens in baseball until at least June. Spring training games mean zilch. The first two months usually don't mean too much unless a team really stinks it up.

But the Yankees won't do that. They'll get in the playoffs, probably by winning the division. After that, it depends on how well rested they are. The last several seasons they have been gassed by the time the playoffs arrived. Their pitching was poor because they struggled in the early part of the year, wearing out their arms before the games that really count.

They are taking a better approach this year: sending two geezers packing (Johnson and Sheffield, who was actually born on the same day as me) for some young arms. The added arms and better team chemistry will make a huge difference.

They should not only make the playoffs but reach the Series as well.

The Yankees are just that:

The Yankees.

And WoW! There are 3-0 in the grapefruit league!
I AM SO IMPRESSED!!!
As you know, the games played in the grapefruit (or catcus) league are MEANINGLESS!!!

The Yankees will make the playoffs....they usually do.

How they do in the playoffs will depend on a number of factors, all of which will be determined in October.

So, we'll have to wait and see.

I do know that I hope The Tigers dont face them in October. The Yankees are mad, and will want to get even. Nothing motivates a team more than getting even.

spring training is no indication of regular season record. that's like saying oh look we just beat a team who used thier starter for two innings and took their position players out by the 5th. remind me again, of the Yanks rotation? oh yeah Mussina, Pettite (can't pitch in AL anymore), Wang (due for a slump no Ks), Igawa, and Pavano!?! wow that's tough right there. The Sox have Dice-K, Schilling, Papelbon, Beckett (will adjust this year to AL), and Wakefield. man I do think the only good Yankee pitcher will get tired since he will need to pitch every day.

I think that they are going win some and loose some. They will endure a few injuries and a significant losing streak. The fans will attend the games and cheer. And the Yankees will believe that the world loves them.
Likely at least one player will be exposed for a drug problem.

I don't think so. Spring Training is like the NFL preseason. It has very little implication on the regular season.
The Yankees will probably will make the playoffs, they'll probably win their division, but they will not win the World Series.
Mark my words.

Oh I DO believe........I believe that but for the unreal pay roll, which has proven to be not productive, and the drug use, egos and ridiculous fans....no one would watch....the yankees dynasty and hopefully steroid use is behind us all....big tough guys what happend to them...?...I agree they used to be a force...but they are not a team...they are just a group of divas who can't get it together.....

The Yankees will make the playoffs and win the East this year - my prediction. But boy, someone here sure dropped his shtick about not winning in the 21st century pretty quickly.....
