I worked at McDonald's at 15. I ran a cash register and took orders, filled drinks, passed food out the window. I also sometimes cleaned the lobby and bathrooms. You can't operate the cooking equipment until you are at least 18. I hope that's what you're asking.

Forget McDonalds or Burger King. If a restaurant is what you want to work in, then work in a real one, not a fast food one. You can get a job as a bus boy or a foodrunner and most get like $3-5/hr plus tips. Depends on how they do it where you're from. One guy I worked with at a restaurant worked his way up from $5-6/hr to $10/hr plus tips which equals to pretty good money. Not saying that you'll be there that long. But working in a restaurant is so much better than fast food. You either get a free meal or a discount on their food and it's usually a lot better than a McDonalds burger.

I think you can do drive thru and cashier, working in the lobby sweeping, wiping tables and mopping taking out trash etc. You need a work permit though.
