I just became 19 yrs. and would like to move to Los Angeles, CA. Would somebody please tell me how to go about it? I'd like to spend the least amount of money in this move-out. As soon as I get good advice I'll start packing. Thanks and greetings from Salem, OR.

First of all before making a big move to LA. have you researched everything? Cost of living for one, jobs, housing, do you have someone you are going to stay with and you have to think about will it work out and if it didn't would you beable to survive? There is a big difference between Salem OR. and LA and at the age of 19 and just leaving home it is a huge move and could end up turning into a disaster if you don't plan it right. Also check out how much does the jobs pay what you are qualified in doing, hook ups on utilities, Gas, Water, power, garbage, rent, renters insurance, car insurance, maint. to your car, personal care, health insurance, groceries, gas to get back and forth to work. And having some extra left over for emergency reasons. Don't mean to put a damper on your move, but you need to put alot of thought into making a move like this. Be wise and you will succeed in what ever you do. Good luck!

Why would you want to move to LA? You live in not too bad of a spot. Expect to pay way more for housing. Since you will not be able to afford a nice neighborhood
you will probally see gang activity, dirty air, lots of crime,
and a lower quality of life. If you can afford a nice neighborhood you may enjoy it. But thats going to cost you around $1800-$2600/ mo to rent a 2 bed appartment in a good area. Good luck & reconsider, maybe somewhere else in Or.

Start looking for a job before you go anywhere. You wouldn't want to rent a place then get a job that means a long and/or expensive commute. You can look online and see what's available and you can also be looking for jobs that way too. If you get a head start on jobs and housing the move will be easier, less stressful and probably cheaper too.

dirty, even in the nice areas, it still has the dirty clean feel about
over-rated
expensive as hell

dude don't do it!!

I moved back to pdx after living in SoCa for a year and I swear . . . we're so much more relaxed up here than they are! Everyone has their undies in a bunch and the chicks are funny (as in: you are so retarded it's funny just how retarded you are. OMG. damn you are retarded)

Go ahead and move there if you want, but visit first, I didn't and well, I'm so ******* happy to be HOME!!!!!

P.s. The air isn't as sweet as it is here and palm trees down there are gross looking, like they're dying from the smog!!
