i am trying to find it in a scene zooming on a character... i know im being a bit vague but thats the best way i can describe it... any help would be appreciated!

Bernard Hermann did the violin piece called "The Murder" for the "Psycho" movie shower scene.
The sound you are looking for is at the link below. It is the strings section of the orchestra, not just the violin, my mistake.

It sounds like you might be referencing a Beethoven piece... unfortunately the name escapes me, hopefully one of the other answerers will clue in on the exact name. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I first thought "Jaws", but it doesn't use a violin. You might be referring to "Psycho" with Anthony Hopkins.
