i am 12 and i think i might get my period soon. i get cramps in my lower area and n my back, sometimes i feel really heavy and bloated too. The only reason i am second guessing this is becuase i was supposed to get mine at 14! but maybe not. i also get lots of discharge some days, and other days not. peopel who have had your period could you tell me if this sounds like i will have it soon? much appricated! thank you

well i got it when i was 13, and im 13 now lol. ummm i just started my period and i had it for four cycles. i think u will get it soon because when i was gonna get it the day before i had alot of discharge and it was wet and very creamy. and then the other day after school i got it. it cought me on a good time i was at home about to go poo (lol) and then i wiped and it came JUST STARTED TO COME lol i was sure lucky lol. and now, like people say the cycle doesnt regulate for like 2 years so im scared WHAT IF I GET IT AT SSCHOOL WITHOUT A PAD ON!

You may be getting your period soon, you may not. What made you think you would get your period at 14? No one can predict when you'll get your period. They might guess, based on when your mom, aunt, sisters, etc. did, but it's just an estimate. You could get yours later or earlier, because you're you. Your doctor was probably just giving you a likely time, not an exact age. S/he couldn't possibly give you an exact age.
I can't tell if you're hoping for your period, but it sounds like it. Don't worry about it---I know it seems exciting, but you'll have it even sooner than you think, and then you'll keep having it for a good 35-40 years! So relax and enjoy the little time you have left not to bother with it, and then enjoy your new aspect of life when you do get it.

Yes you probably are going to have your period very soon. Make sure that you have some pads in your back pack when you go to school just in case you get it . Also if you really are worried about it wear the pad that are really thin and you wear when you are about to have your period. If the cramps hurt really bad ask your mom if she has any Motrin because that work really good to help make your cramps. And don’t worry about being to young to have it because my mom friend had it when she 9 years old and I had it right after I turn 12 and I am 13 now. And last but not least make sure that if you think you are going to have it that you wear dark pants because sometimes it can be really heavy.

Yes, you sound like you may be getting your period. Normally about a week b4 mine starts I get slight cramping down there and bloating, my breasts also get sore. But that didn't start until years after my first one. Not everyone gets there's at the same age. I got my first period at 10. My sister at 9.

it very well could be Who told you you were supposed to get it at 14 every one is different some get it as easly as 10 some as late as 16. I got mine when I was 12 It does sound like it but it could still take a while. YOu really need to go talk to your mom or if you cant do that go talk to your school nurse

no one really knows when you'll get your period. But yes it does sound like you are getting it. lots of discharge, cramps, back pain...this all sounds like it. poor you! hope you enjoyed life while you could because your period sux!!!!!!!!! It will now rule your whole life and determine what you do each day even what you wear can be a factor. oh yeah and there is also lots of blood I mean LOTS!!! it may not seem so at first but once they become regular in no time it will be like your own niagra falls. My period kept me up till 12:30 at night because I ran out of heavy pads. Good luck kid! and welcome to a miserable begining of H*ll

Hi Lucie, it is not unusual for girls to start their periods at 12 and 13. Those symptoms really do sound like the period thing, it will probably not be too long before it starts. (Or, you could be eating foods that are bloating and cramping you too.) Either way, soaking in a warm bath may make things feel better. Welcome to womanhood. :)

Why do you think your "supposed to get it at 14?" Kids can get it all all different ages. You may be getting your period soon and maybe not. If your cramping doesnt go away, go to the doctor. It could be something else.
Why do guys answer these kind of questions?

I got my first period when I was twelve. Before I got it, there were brown discharge in my undies.. I thought I was sick until I told my mom about it and she told me I was going to get my period. I think it lasted for 2 weeks. Weird, aint it. It's been about 2 years & I still have an irregular cycle.

Yeah, it does sound liek you are going to get it soon. Why do you think you were suppose to get it at 14? My mom got hers at 9. I got mine at 11 and my sister at 13. Everyone is different. There is no right age for you to get it.
