Do you mean "The Fall of the House of Usher", by E.A Poe? That's a short story (though a longish one), not a novel.

At the end, the narrator narrowly escapes with his life, and the house is destroyed. All the Ushers are dead.

Its so short it wouldn't kill you to read it yourself

so anyway the actual house of Usher and the House of USher ( the family) are almost one. throughout hte years while the house is starting to get ruined so are its inhabitants and when the house falls so do the people. The title the fall of the house of usher reflects the act uall collapsing of the house and hte end of the Usher family
