It means operating system. Like 98, 2000, ME, XP, and Vista are all different operating systems. (Go XP) They just seem to get better as they go, except for ME, that one stunk. Just a little fact, Microsoft droped support of ME only 1 1/2 years after they came out with service pack 2. Hope this helps!
