How come Richard Felix hasn't been in Most Haunted lately, and why wasn't soundman John Gilbert in the last MHL in Transylvania?

I noticed the none appearance of J Gilbert too, and that of Richard Felix. I wish I could clarify why these two were not there but I regret I've no idea. It goes to show that the public notice these missing characters so why do not the MH team themselves tell us on their programme. It seems quite a secretive show...
Derek Acorah was the main person attached to MH - without him they have kinda struggled along.

Somebody else asked this question recently. Nobody could come up with a definitive answer.
So my guess is that his contract was up for renewal, he'd either had enough and wanted to do something different, or there was a disagreement (eg over salary) which meant his contract was not renewed.
I'm gutted - he was the best bit. Like an enthusiastic uncle!!
There are no explanations on his website either, which is confusing and difficult to navigate. The plot thickens...

Once at Derby Gaol a friend was on a tour with Richard Felix and he told them he was only doing Most Haunted for the Money. So i presume he wanted a Pay Rise but was refused so they axed him. His ego is so big, In Derby people worship him. its cringeworthy.

He was told that the series no longer needed an historian after series 8
