i dont think its the genre that counts, u mite hate romance books, but then u read an amazingly ritten one .....u kno wat im tryin to say, u mite love fiction books, buy one, and read the most pathetic story ever...get my point?

Fiction... Sci-Fi and Fantasy type of fiction.
If you had asked books though... I would say that right now Harry Potter is one of the most widely read books in the world.
But other books have been even more popular.

I'd say fantasy because it's so broad and look at all the hype about Harry Potter , Artemis Fowl, Eragon etc All Fantasy!!!

My favourite type is fiction (Dean Koontz etc)
But probably romance is the most popular i mean have you seen that section at the book shop!
