Exchange rates vary daily, but it's been hovering around 10 pesos to 1 dollar for a while now. So a 5 dollar item would cost about 50 pesos.

edit: I was assuming you meant the exchange rate between Mexico and the US.... I was unaware there were other countries who use pesos, as is indicated by others below.

Many countries use pesos, so you have to be specific. I live in Panama, a peso is equal to 50 cents, we use dolars too, so in $1 = 2 pesos and in $5 = 10 pesos

a peso is like 10 cents so there are ten pesos in a dollar and fifty in five

I have a friend, I chat with regularly in the Phillipines... They use pesos.. And I am told its 48-49 pesos to one american dollar..

therefore 5USD=55.853 Mexican pesos
