There is a lot of talk about this in congress. Personally, I do not see this as a subject that the congress should even discuss.
Unions would, of course, want an open vote. They know that this will point out their trouble makers and, believe me, they will get rid of them. So, yes, it is intemidation.
On the other hand, business should also like this as it will expose the trouble makers.
Unions once had a place, but with few exceptions, they are job killers. Business can afford only so much and union shops cost a whole lot more to operate. And, the extra cost does not go into the workers pocket. It cuts into profits, which cuts into the ability to put money into anyones pocket.

Some congressmen and candidates are using this as a way to present themselves as fighting for the little people. Failing to point out that unions have been the major cause of businesses going out. It's all politics. Empty promises. Looking for a vote.

Big manufactures could once afford to give in to union demands and failed to look far enough ahead to realize that it would not survive indefinately.
My husbund and I were part of a group of people that bought an International Harvester plant when IH had to sell off most of it's holdings -because they had given in to the unions too much too long. If the plant were union at that time, it would not have been something anyone would have bought and hundreds would have been looking for work. Instead, the business has spread from one to 14 facilities and growing. Thousands of people are working because that one facility was worth buying 25 years ago. If any one facility were to go union now, it would not survive long.

The reason union lobby rewriting election rules so they could get more footsoliders to extort the businessmen, shop onwers. The worker may get 10 cent raise when the tuggery by the union said and done. The problem is Unions will not help the worker long term because there always 50,000 others willing to do the job for less money. Probadly get tumbs down for the reply, but the realty is Unions take your dues and invest in casinos in vegas. Hoffa is not your freind.

The last time I checked,,,all elections are supposed to be secret ballot. When you go to vote, why do you think they put the punch card behind a curtain??? BECAUSE IT"S A SECRET,,,thats why. How old are you?????

Because liberals are even more fond of political witch hunts and retaliation than Joseph McCarthy ever was.
