In my nieghborhood there were a couple of people we knew that were gay children and no one questioned that fact, we just knew it. As adults those people are now openly gay. Has that ever happened to you? Can you tell me about that?

My theory is that this is proof that being gay is not a choice, but a fact of life. People are born that way.

Yes me. Everyone knew I was gay, including me, tho for years I denied it. Lots of people know they are gay when they are young, lots are confused, and scared and deny it, but I think that as society becomes more accepting of people for who they are, we will start to see more children being who they truly are and growing into the adults they truly are.

Yes. I grew up in a small midwestern community. And my friend David had a brother a few years younger who was very feminine acting/talking/etc. He was only 7 or 8 when I met him, but everyone kind of assumed by that time already. He was really into hair and design, like the girls. He walked and talked like a girl. After he graduated from highschool, he moved to San Francisco with his boyfriend and they still live there. I have seen him a few times since. He is openly gay and still just as sweet and feminine as ever. And I agree with you. I don't think being gay is really a choice. You are born with it, just like you are born with green eyes or blue. Good luck with your project.

Yep,
The son of my Sunday school teacher was one of those kids we always had a suspicion was gay since a young age. Turns out he was.

In a way, I'm not sure if anyone suspected me of being gay as a kid. But I do remember in kindergarten having a female friend who was a tomboy, and I was not into sports like the other kids, but reluctant to use the term "sissy" as a kid. I think we both knew we were a bit different way back then. Turns out she is a lesbian, and I'm gay.

Nope.

In fact, I never really knew about gay people until I was about 10 or 11, and I didn't meet any other gay people until my freshman year of high school. Now, I'm out to most of my friends, many of whom are gay or lesbian themselves.

My one cousin is gay, as kids the six of us grandkids were always together and we all knew. One time when I was about 25 I was going home with my kids for 4th of July and my Mom calls me to tell me that my cousin was gay, and her and her partner Terry would be there for the 4th. I was like Mom I've always know that she was gay, and it's ok. I guess my Mom and my Aunt had no clue. My Mom says "well she was always with Joey T." So I have to say Mom Joey's gay too! It kinda blew my mom's mind I guess she always thought Joey liked me because he was a butcher at the local store and always gave me really good cuts of meat, I had to tell her it was just because he was a nice guy.

Yes, I remember (as a teen),there were 2 boys in my neighborhood, who "act like girls". At that age,you don't think much of it,until we became adults, and they became open with their sexuality. Nobody was surprised (not even their parents),and we accepted them for who they were.

ONE OF THEM ALSO HAS:
A Bi-sexual sister, who has a Gay son. He married his male lover.
A Lesbian cousin, who has a Gay brother. She also married her Lesbian lover.

Both of these Men,who I grew up with, "passed away" a few years ago. Both were killed by their Gay lovers.
