I do not hate Barry Bonds the player; I have said he was one of the best ever even before he allegedly started steroids.
I have disliked Barry Bonds the person because he tried very hard to get out of paying child support when the players were in a lock-out/strike back in the 1990's. He said he could not afford to pay the court-mandated child support, the millions he had earned were not enough.
At that time I was supporting a family while a member of the Air Force, making as much for the year as Bonds was earning per game. I lost respect for him as a man for trying to weasel out of his responsibilities to his children. That is why I refer to him now as a person and not as a man---a real man takes care of his responsibilities to his children no matter what.

There will still be an NFL. There was an NFL in the 1920's when steroids weren't around. Barry Bonds had those stats because of steroids. Therefore, his stats aren't impressive since he cheated. He certainly isn't helping his case by acting like an ******. He is a cheater. He isn't going to get people to side with him by acting like an ******. He isn't a baseball player. And by his attitude, he isn't even a man. Screw Bonds. The only thing he deserves is a 100 m.p.h. pitch thrown at his head.

he brought it on himself. he was a certain hall of fame player with a great career but he definitely juiced it up the last 9 or 10 years because he was jealous of the sosa-mcguire homerun barrage. his shoe-size grew from a 10 to a 13 and his head got bigger than a pumpkin. obviously he was doing steroids . too bad though , he was already a premier athlete. the only positive is that if he does get the record (and i hope not) a-rod will probably pass him soon after

probably because he is about to break aarons record and people know he used steroids at once point or another. im a giants fan and i wont be ignorant and say bonds never used steroids because we all know he did. but he had hall of famer numbers before he used steroids. i bet half the league uses steroids but everyone focus's on barry because of the record.
by the way, steroids dont help your hand eye coordination and barry doesnt need steroids for power. steroids could help him with injuries is all.
maybe he is jerk to people, because they keep pestering him and saying he cheating and throwing plastic syringes at him and he has received death threats, so wouldnt you hate people and be a jerk if people are targeting you and trying to kill you and hurt your family?
and there isnt any proof that aaron didnt use steroids either.

Steroids aren't the main reason I dislike Mr. Bond so much, although how can you doubt it?
I'm sure they are lots of other players that did 'roids. I am sure Pudge did at some point in his career. Big deal, everyone does it.
Granted, it ain't right, but can you do about it?
The main reason I dislike Mr. Bonds is because he is simply a jerk. His "holier-than-thou" attitude is quite tiresome, and reeks of hypocrisy.
I do not hate Bonds as a player. I dislike him as a person.
But, on that note, he does NOT deserve to break Hank Aaron's HR record. At least Hank Aaron was a man!
And this whole "death threat" thing he has been saying.
There is NO proof it is true.
Just another ploy by him to divert the truth away from his "steroid usage".

The stats don't mean anything. All were obtained through chemicals. He's a cheater. Wrong! He was found to have used body creams two seasons ago loaded with HGH. I'm surprised that all his defenders fail to mention that point. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Why do you think Greg Anderson sits in jail do time for Bonds? You need to pull your head out of the sand and get in the real world. His numbers add up to "Zero" as far as the true baseball fan is concerned.

I think the dislike is fueled over others because of the fact that he is a dick.
And he is essentially the de-facto president of the steroids-club.
Maybe unfair, but I think if anyone else who took steroids was breaking records like he is then they would be subject to the same dislike. But they aren't!

My best friend is a Giants fan and im a Cubs fan so we both had our Juiced Home Run hitters in the last few years. We debate this all the time... I think that anything that happend prior these new steriod rules shouldnt matter. I agree Bonds is one of the greatest players of our time if not the greatest of our time. Baseball is a game of cheating, it always has been. Between scuffing balls, using pine tar or greese on them , corked bats or whatever else players use. The guy is a Jerk though, and thats why he gets it more. But no one deserves all what he is getting. You noticed no one jumped on Shawn Merriman (NFL) about testing positive, Bonds never has even tested positive.
