I have a couple forms I need to e-mail clients. They're word documents and I want them to be able to open them without a password or anything like that, but I don't want them to be able to change anything, just print them. How can I do that?

Thanks!

If they do not need to be edited, make them .pdf. http://www.cutepdf.com is free if you do not have acrobat writer.

I assume that you are using MS Office XP or 2003.
In that case. Form your word window follow these steps
1.click tools menu then click protect document
2.From right side pan- click on check box that under “2.editing restrictions”.
3.Now keep or select “No changes (Read only)”
4.Click on “Yes, Start Enforcing Protection” button, that on bottom of the pan
5.On Start Enforcing Program window just give a password.
It’s done, this document can be print or view without password, but cannot be edit or change without password, that you want. Hope it will work.

specific, it particularly is. visit techniques -> thoughts -> protection and enter a password for the record. you've gotten diverse passwords to envision the record, and to change it. i might propose making use of the very best tab to pick an encryption technique different than vulnerable Encryption (it particularly is ineffective) and workplace ninety seven/2000 properly matched. the suited determination is in all probability the only that makes use of the present US common, AES. additionally a sturdy theory to make constructive that the folk you prefer to share the document with have a version that helps the encryption technique you elect. sturdy protection hygiene is to transmit the password by way of a very diverse technique -- not by way of e mail, if it particularly is the way you will share the document, as an occasion. grant the password by way of telephone, or a bite of paper transmitted manually.

Anything like this, you should convert them to PDF formet, that provides better printing, and no avaliablity for editing is provideed, a free pdf converter can be easily found on the web, just be carefull, cause a lot of free ones will put their logho in the corner....if you have acrobat, that has a converter, and of course if you have Office 2007, that has one too.....convert to PDF, and ur problems r solved;)
