What are the distinctions between people being confident and people being over confident?

I think a self confident person is sure of themself and doesn't let what other people say/think bother them. An over-confident person is really a person trying to mask their low self-esteem by making themself seem better than the rest.

Even confident people question their abilities and have some self-doubt. Those that are over-confident never do.

Confidence, with a touch of humility! That's the difference from one with an ego problem.

people who are confident have a positive sense of self
people who are over confident are just full of themselves
people who are confident listen to what others are saying as well as speaking their mind
those who are over confident (cocky) don't really care what others say, they just like to hear themselves talk
