I'm a freshman in high school and I want to be a high school english teacher. Now, do I major in education or major in english ?

You could do a double major.

Major in education. What you need to do is to ask a teacher that majored in education and a teacher that majored in English. That way you can be positive on what you want to do.

I majored in education. It would be easier to switch to English that way. It would also be easier and faster to major in education. That is the way I became an English teacher. ( What ever kind of teacher you are going to become, It would be better and smarter to major in education. This is my opinion though.)

Major in english, minor in education. so when you go for a masters, you have the strong background in english

Major in English and Minor in education. Those education classes are so dull! You don't use two-thirds of what you learn from them!

Go for the English major. Then you'll have the background for when you go for your master's degree in education.
