i have locked a door of my appartment that leads to the balkony and now i cannot open it. the key cannot turn. what should i do?

If this is an apartment, then it is a job for your landlord. You could try a little graphite in the lock first. It is not difficult to replace a lock-set, if you are intent on doing it yourself. Simply remove the old one, and bring it with you to the hardware store. They will even re-key the new set to the original key.

The landlord should take care of this, if you just want to do it yourself take the hinge pins out and you an then remove the door and remove the lock and take it to a lock smith or just buy a new one

What type of door is it?
Call in a lock smith, or if it's a wooden door take the lock out.

well.. when that happened to one of my door.. i tried my best to be gentle but the thing just doesn't want to work it out. you know what i did? i took an extra large hammer and broke the door knob... lock... and half of my door : frustration
