The absolute best thing I ever did. I became part of the history, traditions and lifestyle of the best of the best. Let other's laugh about cannon fodder. They'll never do it in front of my face.
To be a Marine is something very special.

If you're asking because you want to go in, It's not all that it's cracked up to be. They treat you like crap, "The few the proud the marines" is a load of crap. There are a lot of Marines, and for being such a respected group of military members, they are basically on the lowest end of life quality. It's very tough, but they don't get respected in the way I think they should.
Their housing is crap, their pay is crap, they have dress codes when not in uniform, you work your tail off, If you wanna go into the military I would go into the Air Force. You get treated like Gold.

Fine fighting force with a justifiably proud military heritage. Thinking of joining? If so, good for you. Hope you make it because they do have high standards and if you can get in, that's a great indicator of the kind of man you are and the potential you have. Good luck.
