A single red rose rests upon a grand piano, reveling in its own delicate beauty. The room contains no walls; its boundaries are limitless. A rich, midnight black is presents throughout the atmosphere. Though the room exists boundless, the rose possesses a divine aura, which blossoms in the eyes of many. It signifies a vast number of things… A petal dropped for Loneliness… A petal shed for Hope… A petal given for Romance… A petal kept for Solitude… Yet, somewhere, amidst all of its meanings, lays a hushed heavenly elegance.

Please give me an honest critique. Yes, I realize the rose is classic and may seem to you overused.. Put that aside and pretend the rose is still meaningful to you if you feel this way. The paragraph is meant to describe and evoke a feeling about the essence of the photgraph...

Please be honest in what you think.. Thank you!!

I loved the image the paragraph evokes...but it does not match the image itself.
When I read the paragraph, I expected to see a room draped in velvet, with only the slightest light, maybe a golden candles glow, scattered with rose petals, and a withering rose, still in the prime of its bloom, yet reduced. I never expected to see the keys of a piano with a still opening bud.
Its a beautiful paragraphs....exquisitely descriptive, but it does not fit the image.

I kept reading and never lost interest--surely "good news" to an author(ess). Excellent images evoked, along with associated feelings stimulated by the petals' "activities"; and even the sense of smell which easily arises when roses are well described, and discussed. All in all, quite an excellent bit of writing, indicative of the presence of talent :))))
