Why did it get cold? If it was just through use then you'll have hot water soon. But I think it may have been awhile ago in which case you may need to check to see if the pilot light is still lit. Good luck

Recovery time is different for gas than electric. With gas water heating, 30-60 minutes. For electric water heating, 2-3 hours minimum depending on the size of the water tank.

Need more info! Do you have an electric or gas water heater? If gas, did the pilot go out? If electric, did an element go out?

the water in the water tank has to heat first. give it 15 min.
