ok step one assume right away that you're gonna f*ck up a couple times and your gonna get pissed and maybe throw a thing or two, even if you are a quiet mild mannered photographer/pizza boy..or in your case college kid..if at all possible find some sucker .um i mean friend to help, that makes a world of difference now, your gonna need a spray bottle, fill that with soap and water mixed to a slippery/slimy but not too bubbly consistency. also your gonna need a razor blade..not scissors those can ruin it all before you start, and last but not least a squeegee, or two if u have a helper...you want to to this on a warm and windless day..(the wind and the sun are your worst enemies here) so preferrably in the shade.. DONT TAKE THE PLASTIC BACKING OFF THE TINT UNTIL RIGHT BEFORE YOU APPLY IT TO THE WINDOW, now we gotta think geometry ..shapes anyway..you only have so much tint in the roll so u gotta utilize it. so lay the tint up against the outside of the back window first and unroll it across lengthwise, leave about 1/4 inch overlap on each side, and cut it straight as possible from the roll with your razor, do the same for the other windows and always cut slightly bigger than the window. now (assuming that your windows were washed prior to you starting this project) lay down some towels inside the car cover everything that you dont want getting wet, because it will. and so will you. spray the inside of the back window generously, GENEROUSLY with the soap/water mix, and get your piece of tint now the tricky part spray the hell out of the tint too, especially where it detatched from the plastic..keep spraying while you peel it apart (see where the help comes in handy) dont let it stick to itself or youll have a unacceptable crease possibly ..the key here is keep everything wet and slippery as possible at all times, constant spraying where needed , now try to center it best possible on the back window (sticky side to window) and make sure its touching top and bottom as well and kinda quickly smooth it on with your hands, now time for the time consuming part using the squeegee and once again spraying regularly ..work all the air bubbles and creases out from the middle all the way to the ends, this is the most frustrating part of all of it as bubbles reappear and multiply..yeah its a pain...but follow suit on all other windows and carefully cut them all to size, park your car out of direct sunlight and dont roll down the windows for 2 days or so ..im not the best at explaining things,..but there ya go hope it helps

Even if you knew the technicalities of putting on tinting film, the chances are excellent that you will waste more tinting material then it would cost you to have a pro do it in the first place. This job takes a lot of experience.

I'd suggest you take it to that place and let them do it. If u have never done it, u'd probably spend $100 for the tint before u finish. I't took me 5 years and I still mess up sometimes.

$20.00 a window is a deal, that stuff is hard to put on and get all the bubbles out of it, I did it on my old chevy but never again, it took me 3 days to do it and I still messed up in a couple of places.
