a high quality Oil out lasts the filter...rite..? Why would i throw new oil in it when the old oil just needs cleaned..?

Absolutely NOT. The oil in your engine is subject to extreme heat, gasoline and carbon blow-by. It gets contanimated in the normal operation of the engine. Your filter does not adequately remove these by-products and thefore you need to change the oil at the manufactures perscribed intervals or sooner.

Mobil 1 makes a filter designed for synthetic oils with extended change intervals. It hold a lot more junk that it's filtered out than regular filters.

No. If anything you should do the opposite and leave the filter and change the oil. The addatives in the oil break down as it gets older.

filter costs maybe 7 bucks or 5 euros. why screw around with it for such little money. change filter. be happy.
