how do you breed Pokemon?

There are two ways.

One: You get a boy and a girl pokemon, the same type and wait. You will get a copy of the female pokemon on it's first stage.

Two: You get a ditto and any other pokemon, either gender and wait. You will get the pokemon that is not ditto on it's first stage unless both pokemon are ditto.

In Johto you breed pokemon just outside of Goldenrod City.

In Kanto you breed pokemon on four Island.

In Hoenn just outside of Mauville City.

Take the pokemon you want the baby of (Bulbasaur, Charmander etc.) and drop them off at the daycare center. Catch a ditto and drop it off too. Come back after a while and the old man in charge of the daycare will be standing further outside and will present you with an egg. Take it and keep it with your party and after a while it will hatch into a level 5 baby. (or a preevolution, depening on the pokemon)

There's two exceptions however:
+Genderless Pokemon like magnemite cannot be bred
+Legendary's like Mewtwo cannot be breed.

Get a girl pokemon and a boy pokemon the same, drop them off at the day care centre, come back later to pick them up and talk to the man standing outside he will give you an egg. This will hatch into the first stage of whatever pokemon you dropped off.
