you can't? Has anyone done this. I have 3 or 4 older phones could I do a trade, will I be looked down upon? What about the boxes at the USPS anywhere else you've seen had mobile drop boxes. I just need a new phone and really don't want to pay for it.

I see we already have a tryout for the character Scrooge for the Christmas play. lol

Yes, you can take one of those phones and when you get caught you could be charged with stealing. You know even if you steal a phone then you have to make sure it is with a cell phone company that uses it, cuz most phones are locked.

Now even if you get a cheapie that you still you have to pay for the high phone prices. Check out the cricket.com . This phone company has a $37 plan in San Antonio for UNLIMITED minutes, UNLIMITED texting, called ID, free long distance calling, and 3 way and get this NO CONTRACT. So you might steal a phone but still cost you more in the long run. Think outstide the box. The total bill is $45 and change a month. Now I do not have to worry about minutes no more cuz there were more than once in 5 years I got caught using too many minutes and that 15 cents a minute can cost too.

Well have fun in the drop boxes now. And do not get caught. And when the close the jail door behind you and your cell mate looks at you for a booty call, you might tell your self "from drop boxes to dropping my shorts for my cell mate" hahaha

With what you might pay to get one of them working again providing you can you might as well just get a new phone. a lot of cellular systems are going all digital and a lot of those phones might be analog. Plus if you don't have the right cord you'll have to buy that and maybe a battery. Go around to your local cell phone company store and look for specials. Cellcom who I am thru at their store occasionally low end phones for free with rebates and no service contract.

I have thought about this, and really i dont think it is illegal...
maybe you could go in the least busy hours and like, make sure the least amount of people are in there and maybe nobody really will notice. you could haul a$$ after doing the swap.. maybe throw a couple dollars in there. I personally think maybe you might end up with a broken phone so just dont do a swap. act like you forgot to take your sim card out of the phone or something. if you act like a crazy person, nobody will mess with you just act like you are in your own world and you didnt think it was wrong thats what i do
