I am a mother of 2 and a part time model. I am 5'10, 130 lbs. I am a sz 6, slim figured w/ definate curves (chest hips butt). I am competing w/ sz 2s+4s w/ no hips or butts and MAYBE speedbumps or mesquito bites for breasts. When i audition by myself, clients love me and think I'm perfect but when I am required to audition in a group of these tiny teeny boppers all the sudden I'm the "big girl".......I know I look good, expecially after kids (sorry, not trying to be concieted) but my dream job is starting to take a toll on my confidence level and I am beginning to be a bit self concious.I want to show my kids that if you work hard dreams do come true but I refuse to give in and starve myself or diet to get "thinner". I guess my question is .....should I forget about my dream and throw in the towel in order to save my emotional well being and stay healthy or do I deal w/ being the "big girl",try a diet or two, and pray my kids don't take notice?

if i were you, i would not give up on your dream.
like you said, show your kids that if you strive hard enough you will reach the stars!! you can do this!!
i am pretty sure that there are certain jobs out there that don't want stick-thin models, but instead, women who are small but curvy, like you are.
just know that there are more than the two options that you listed, and that you don't have to give up, and you also don't have to give in to the "stick-thin pressure" either.
maybe you could take a break from modeling for a while to think things through.
really give yourself some "me time" to find out what you think will work out better in the long run.
but don't give up on modeling permanently until you know for sure!!
the fact that you are trying to follow your dream, and set a good example at the same time shows a lot about your character, as a model and a loving mother.
i really wish you good luck on this decision, and hope that you will be happy with whatever decision you decide to make!!

sweety in this world you have to love who you are or no one will. DO NOT DIET when you have kids you will get very tierd and you spose to be showing your kids an example. You sound beautiful any way, curves r really hot if you diet you will lose them and your kids will notice you. Thos models who are anirexic skinny make me sick to see them in such a state , dont worrie about being the "big" girl , you will be the one who lives longer. You are not the big girl really just compared to skin and bones and no muscle lol you dont want to be like that. i hope this helps and if not we can talk

I am 13. and I think you should NEVER EVER give up your dream. Its about time, that they stop brainwashing us and telling us that only thin is beautifull. They need to make curver models walk the runways. I am 13 and I am naturally thin a size 0 - but oh my god I eat like a PIG. hehe. I still think that models that look like there about to faint and are visably not healthy should not be shown to girls especially that are growing. dont even take a diet. you are perfect and beautifull just the way you are. Thin is sooooooooooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooo not better then curver and curvyer is not better then thin, both are beautifull if you are not stiving to be thin. You should not try and be thin insted you should focus on being a curver role model for younge girls! :D sorry for like the bad spelling and stuff. I am a quick typer.

I would LOVE to weigh 130 and I'm a little shorter than you! I hope you don't diet. I bet you look great and you don't want to set a bad example for your kids. I hope you don't abandon your dream. We need more models like you.

You don't deserve that! You are beautiful just the way you are. Those stick figure models are disgusting and sick. Ask any guy, they would much rather be with a woman who has curves. I think you should give it up. There is no competing with those half dead need a blood transfusion anorexics.

being a mother of 2.. your chances are slim
you are not able to travel and most likely are time limited due to the children's schedules

instead.. take time to enjoy those little ones

as for the curvy issue.. models have to be very very thin so the clothes hang on them
the gals are the clothes hanger with the clothes being the star attraction
