It reminds me of the following story (excerpts from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia):
Goliath mocked David for coming against him with "sticks," cursed him by the names of the Philistine gods, and then closed in to attack. "David...struck the Philistine, and killed him". This is how he did it- first; he slung the stone, then "took his sword... and killed him".
David drew a stone from his bag and used his sling to send it flying into the giant's head. When Goliath fell to the ground, David drew the Philistine's sword from his scabbard and cut off his head as he previously stated he would.
So don't rule out any possibilities, though one may mock them at first like a few have done here too at their own peril (lol)!!

most of the teams have already said that this world cup is for anyone who "happens" to play good during the world cup..rankings don't mean anything.
Teams like Bangladesh, Kenya, Zimbabwe etc. know that they aren't the favorites to win so they just come into the world cup thinking that lets just get it over and done with and don't really get pressured. So I wouldn't be a least bit surprised if a low ranking team wins it all!

What if?
Silly question really. Shocked? Why waste time contemplating it the likelihood of sides as talent poor who struggle in the ICC Trophy and have very little experience in beating the REAL teams seems crazy....if you wanted to ask a real question why not change it to any one of these:
What if Australia squad all suffer from home sickness and forfeit all of their super eight and finals games?
What if South Africa decided they no longer wanted to play cricket and take up Ice Hockey?
What if the Indian Team decided it was more fun to go to spend 10 days at the beach and let the other teams go on without them?
What if Sri Lanka decided that they wanted to go to USA to see the NBA all Stars Game?
What if England decided that they wanted to have a RUM party and where too hung over to play cricket for the rest of the WCC?
Gees...seriously if you want to waste time thinking of something like that then go to Lloyds sportsbook and ask them what odds that aliens will arrive in ten years....Elvis Presley is really Alive and that Star war is based on a true story....
Get the idea.....

There is absolutely no chance for such an eventuality as the above teams do not have the talent and strength to win matches consistently and reach final.
