The DJ said he use to be on American Idol.
The DJ had a hard time pronouncing/knowning how to say the last name.

Anyhow, you may be thinking about Chris Daughtry. I think his "Band's" name is "Daughtry". I caught the end of the music video the other day. Couldn't tell you the name of the song though.
