I was thinking of trying Thayer's witch hazel with aloe. Does anybody have any comments on either this product or other products with witch hazel? Did it shrink your pores?

Proative might work for you, but be aware that it has harsh chemicals and they produce redness, dryness, and irritation.

On the other hand, I personally prefer the botanical based products. Witch hazel has many beneficial properties.

Some to mention:
Helps smooth out wrinkles, cleanse and tone skin. Prevents oily buildup on the tissues and it's antiseptic properties keep skin clear of pimples and acne. It is an astringent, soothes bruises, kills bacteria, heals infections, and it's anti-inflammatory. It's used to treat many injuries like burns, sores, inflamed eyes, oozing skin disease, eczema, and irritated sensitive tissues.

I hope I was a bit helpful on your choice!

Witch hazel works as a natural toner for the skin, and the idea is to clean and shrink your pores. If I were you, I would get a bottle with 100% witch hazel, and add some blended cucumber, green tea, some lemon juice, and the like. These will all work together nicely as a more natural, less harsh toner.

But, otherwise, without my idea, Thayer's witch hazel works nicely. I have friends who use something similar from Walgreen's.

Hope this helps!

DON'T waste your money on proactive.

it doesn't NOT work.

and for witch hazel [which I use for my toner]..its not totally great..

I think I may be switching to Lemon Juice..

But what the heck, try witch hazel [about 2 bucks] and then if that doesn't work use lemon juice =]
