I worked for a fertility pharmacy for a couple years. I'm not by any means a fertility specialist but I've listened to alot of women's experiences in trying to conceive. Diabetes can cause erectile dysfunction I'm not sure about sperm count. I would contact an endocrinologist to have his sperm checked. If that is the case there are medications that he can take or things you can take to make you more fertile. Definitely seek advise from a doctor that specializes in infertility. I'm not saying that you or your husband need fertility drugs, but it can't hurt to cover all your bases. My other suggestion is try alternative methods to increase your ability to conceive. Make sure that there is a problem before going down the medication avenue. It is very expensive, and most insurances do not cover the cost. It could be timing. Alot of couples will do whats called a timed intercourse, with a little help with boosting ovulation. Always seek the guidance from professionals.

your husband should check with his doctor or pharmacist about whether his medication could be reducing his fertility. It can however take a couple 18mths or more to conceive a child whether they have had previous kids or not. Age also contributes to fertility so this may also be another factor to take into account. Follow a healthy diet and take regular exercise and take folic acid daily. If in another 6 mths you still have had no luck then see your gp about some basic fertility tests. good luck

As you over 35 and have been trying for over a year I would go to your drs and both get tested to see if there is any problems - like blocked tubes - no ovulation - poor sperm etc.
I don't think it 's a problem with him having diabetes as my ex partner is a diabetic and we had two children together.
Is he the father of you other child?
It can cause problem with erections but i don't think it would make him infertile as such,
Are you having regular periods , try charting your bbt to see if you are ovulating this needs at least three months of charting to get an idea of your bodies cycle.
good luck
