Incest is completely, 100% different than gay relationships. Sex between a son and mother is damaging to another person. The risk of birth defect is very high. and just so YOU know it is illegal. At this point in time there is no law stating that homosexuality is against the law. And since you are probably going to bring this up....STD's are just as prominent in straight people as they are in gay people...and those are preventable. So once again...the whole incest thing is a mute point. But good effort. My question to you is...why are you so close minded? Does it really affect you life if I'm sleeping with another woman? Does it really affect you that I love someone, and we make each other happy?

Really, the burden should not rest on you, me, or any other gay person to try to defend incest or even address the issue. My contention with people who try to prevent gay couples from having the same medical/insurance/etc. rights as straight couples relates directly to my own life and that of my partner.

Attempts by others to drag incest, bestiality, or any other unrelated topic into the debate is silly and pointless. Our focus should be on issues like whether both parents in a gay relationship can see their child in the hospital if one of them is unable to communicate. Incest doesn't have anything to do with my life, and there's really no point in debating the issue.

Yes, Social Ego. Its the gift that culture keeps on giving. The human heart is like fire, intense and hard to grasp, and we can't really get an idea of how big it is or even what it truly is capiable of. But the fact still remains that man is a social animal and the part of us that needs that is controlled by it and the environment it gives us. It isn't that it isn't possible just that no one's been shown a path like that which well work within our society, personally I think its due to, too many groups and not enough individuals. Besides it couldn't work in a society thats not welling to accept it. I know from my own experience how true that is because I'm in the same camp as you, I think true love is a lot bigger then our own selfish desires. Unfornatly I live in a society that doesn't feel that way.... it has sorta lost the differents between love and obession. Western Culture by its very nature is driven by an individuals obession to obtain a dream. Not out of love so much as for the pride gained from it, the Prestige in other words. With that at the core, how are we suppose to tell when were doing it for the love of it and not just because we know no better way?
