I am a little over weight ( by like 5 lbs) I can't find a pair of jeans that fit my body. I just need jeans out of popular stores like Kohls, Pennys, etc..

You should go with dark denim it will make you appear slimmer. Likewise, if you wear lightwash jeans it will make your bottom half appear wider.

5 lbs overweight is not really that overweight... In any case try American Eagle's "Boyfriend" fit jeans. They're meant to be looser around the thighs/knees than other jeans, without being baggy whatsoever. So if you think you're overweight, you'll find they don't emphasize the size of the hips/butt/upper thighs the way that most jeans do. Most other jeans get smaller just after the butt, squeeze the thighs and create this butt-heavy pear shape. And they're very comfortable!

If you carry weight on your hips and thighs then get flared jeans as it will balance out the top and bottom, whereas straight leg jeans would make your hips look bigger in comparison to the rest ofyour legs.
If you have excess fat on your stomach then buy high waisted jeans, definitely not hipsters, you don't want saddlebags!

Try Marshalls/ TJ Maxx/ Ross..they're prices are comparable to stores like Kohl's and JC Penny's.. and you'll have more options
