If you really want to add power but not noise you should start at the header and go from there. Mufflers don't typically add much power (some add none at all and are only for sound.)

Most factory exhaust manifolds are very restrictive so opening up that part of the exhaust system will give you better results. You'll see even more benefits by adding a catback system with the header but most systems designed for imports are designed to make the exhaust louder (thats what many people want.) I'd start with the header and then ask around to see which catback system will net some gains, fit well, and isn't terribly harsh and noisy.

I like the sound of a Dynomax Turbo muffler. You will hear no interior noise while driving and a very deep growl on acceleration. The oval shaped muffler is a straight through design with expanded metal in the core itself.
