I am the type of person that worries alot about their grades especially since colleges look at your grades. Well, I am a freshman in high school and I have some questions about my grades. First off, I have 7 classes, 6 of them being Honors Classes. The only class that was not Honors is Health. Honors classes are worth 5 points and Regular classes are worth 4 points. For the first semester, I got 4 A's, 2 B's, and 1 C. The C was in Honors Biology. My question is that, are my grades good, average, acceptable? You might say why take 6 honors your freshman year, well my school is one of the best in the state and only offers honors and A.P. classes besides P.E. and Health. So, my grades ok, and should I worry? Help is appreciated. Thank you.

Im now a senior in high school with a few months to graduate and i would say dont worry if those are youre grades. Colleges love to see honors classes. period. its better that you get a C or a B in an honors or ap class than to get an A in a regular class. And if it is true that your school is one of the best in the states than you already have a heads up on others because the colleges around there already know that quality people come out of that building. But on the bright side if youre still worried, is that colleges dont care about freshman year much. the only way that it really counts towards your college acceptance is getting your gpa up a little cuz thats usually one of the easier years from my opinion. Also im assuming you want to go to college so id recommend you join some clubs and/or sports because they love that too. Good luck for the rest of the year though.

I'm a freshman, too. All of my classes are honors. For the first semester, I got all five A's and a B. I got the B in Algebra 2X. It's o.k. though, because the math classes are weighted. So I really have all A's. I'm kind of obsessed with my grades. I think anything below a B is bad, even if the classes a weighted.

Research data shows that it is the "C" average students who are the richest people in society. Rarely, do overachievers in school become rich people.

Therefore, you must ask yourself. "Do you strive for good grades because you want to go to college?" or "Do you strive for good grades because you intrinsically enjoy learning?"

If you attend an excellent school, take honor classes, then your grades will get you into a college--maybe not Ivy league though.

Rather, I would say, "Enjoy this time in your life." Remember there is more to life than school.

it depends on where you want to go to college. If you really want to go to an Ivy, then i would try and bring your grades up. But you should be fine if you want to go almost anywhere else.
In general, top colleges like 3.5 gpa's and up (unweighted - A=4, B=3, C=2...), but since you're taking honors classes, your weighted grade is looking good, so that should help you out.
Considering that Cs are "average," you're well above average, so you have nothing to worry about

I would say your grades are very good - I would also say you are very young and you should be enjoying high school, not worrying so much about your grades.
